Let victims of crime track case online, says thinktank

A thinktank in London says that people in England and Wales should be allowed to follow their crime online. The Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) is creating a program that will let victims know what going on, it is said  that not knowing what was happening in a case caused frustration for victims and made them lose confidence in the justice system. The program should involve details on the progress of cases – including arrests, investigations, judgments and transcripts. The report concludes: "The effectiveness of the criminal justice system depends crucially on the public's confidence in it.

I am torn about this, on the one hand I think it is a great idea and victims would probably really benefit from it. But on the other hand wouldn’t victims drive themselves insane by keep looking at the site and wanting to know what is going on. Maybe it is better to know something but what if you get obsessed with it. The police could put a limit on the few or send a text when new information is presented, I think that would be better else people might go insane.

When a 32-year-old art teacher found out she was pregnant, she soon found herself also loosing her job. This was the case with Rebecca Raven, an art teacher at Howell's School in Denbigh, North Wales. The school had decided not to renew her contract, but offer her a part time position. When she went after this position, she found herself not appointed. She talked to her union, the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL) and sued the school. She won the case in court, but said she was seeking compensation, not reinstatement, and hoped to find another job to start in September.

To me this is uncalled for, the school should not have done this. There is also some irony in this because this is a girl school and it should be a good example that a teacher who is pregnant can also have a job. The school played a dirty game by offering her a phony job, which they themselves probably already knew that they weren’t going to give to her. Pregnancy should never be a reason to fire an employee, if this was the case then either there would be a lot less kids or a lot more jobs available.

A woman going through a divorce was fighting so violently with her husband that she decided to call the cops that one day. An agent showed up and consulted the woman and tried to make her feel better by telling her this was nothing to be embarrassed about. While her husband was taken to the police station the first text was send telling her he look gorgeous. This was one of many for the oncoming months. The woman was tormented and now the after all these months it turned out the man harassing her was that same police offers she trusted, he got three years and four months.

In my opinion three months and four years is not nearly enough. In his position he should never ever have done this and therefore need to be made an example of. It is outrageous that someone could take advantage of some one in that position. This woman was already going through a nasty divorce and he knew this, I can’t believe that he did this didn’t he learn anything in school. The police should make a public apologue if you ask me and make sure this will never happen again.

An eighteen-year-old boy decided he had enough of his overweight body and lost nine stone in ten months. He did this all with one purpose in his head, joining the army and help defend the queen’s country. He wants to join the forces and fight against the Taliban in Afghanistan.  When his was there before the lost the weight he was turned down and he said “I couldn’t believe it when I was turned away. It was like all my hopes and dreams had just crumbled in front of me. Therefore he decided to change everything to get to his goal.

I think this is great! I can’t believe he lost this much weight in only then months, and that with only the goal to join the army. Personally I do think it is a waste but that is just because I don’t agree with the war we’re in and why we are fighting. I do understand that at first the army turn him down because you do need to be in shape to join, how else will you sprint somewhere if it is necessary. And when you look at the before and after died posted on the site I get why he got fat, you can’t eat that much fat food.

A 21-year-old man who was going to court for assault charges, decided to make a dumb post on facebook. The man said another week at court on facebook on which a friend of his replied asking about how the case was going. The 21 year old man told him  "Yeah I think I get away with it to be honest," and added it was "looking good."  And anonymous person printed the text and handed to the prosecution. After this the man was convicted and posted this on facebook  "Boom! Im (sic) coming home best start sorting myself out. Tag for 6 months...and got to stay out of trouble for 2 years."

This guy is really dumb, I’m sorry but posting on facebook while you’re in court? Doesn’t he know better, cause he should. There are already a lot of things with posting on facebook been on the news, did he get the info. I also wonder if he knows that you don’t have to post something, facebook won’t come after you and kill you or something. I guess this is also a good think if more ignorant people to this, convicting would go a lot faster and it would be easier.

A twenty-three year old father of one Chris Richmond was “garrotte” by an elderly couple who did not agree with him riding a motorbike. The man tells us he was just going for a ride on his friends’ bike when the woman of the couple gave him a dirty look. Like she did not agree with what he was doing, soon after the man felt a dog leash around his neck and had trouble breathing. The man had to be taking to the hospital with burns and bruising on his neck after hitting the leash stretched across his path.

This horrors me, why would someone do this. How can you even think of doing this? I hope the couple gets caught, and fast. They cannot be mentally well if they think of doing this. And why do this to a man who is just riding a motorcycle, what did he do to you. There is nothing that will justify the couple for doing this. I hope when this couple of creeps gets caught they will be locked up for a very long time.

Finally six people are arrested for a hate/revenge crime on a black man two weeks ago. This was actually a fifteen-year-old boy in South Africa. The suspects were five white men and one white woman around the age of 19 and 49. The raid of the suspects’ house brought forth sixteen guns and fifteen swords. The victim was found by his friend near his house not even 500 meters away, half conscious. The friend ran back to the house to get the victim’s mother for help but It was no use. Fifteen-year-old child died in surgery

I am always shocked when the police rates a house and finds that many guns. How can this be possible, to get that many guns and why do people need them anyway. Even though this is South Africa I can’t believe the media portrays the victim like a man while it was just a little boy. Hate crime are one of the worst and pointless crimes made by small-minded people and I can not believe there are still people who commit these crimes.  And don’t people know by now that revenge is never an option because there will never be an end to if everyone wants revenge.

An elderly lady was bitten by a dog when she went to India for holiday. This lady went to the doctor because she was feeling ill shortly after returning from her holiday. The doctor immediately sent her to hospital to get tested.  These test showed that the lady had contracted rabies and needed a shot. She was sent to another hospital where she was taking in to the isolation ward were she was treated. Unfortunately she died over the weekend, now there is a second brit who is also dyeing of rabies.

I can’t believe this really happened, in this day and age with all our technical and medical research. But I this story I also can’t believe this lady, why didn’t she go to hospital immediately in India? Why wait until you get back and feel ill. Especially in India this lady should have known that she was at risk for something. What is weird to me, is that there is another brit who contracted this. Did this person also did not go to hospital immediately or is there something that is wrong this the medication?

A seventeen-year-old girl was found dead last November, her parents have now discovered that she was suffering from the disease anorexia. They did not notice this sooner, because she was doing excellent in school and got a lot of awards for her work. She even was a head girl. The only thing odd was that she skipped a lot of meals, when her parents asked why she wouldn’t eat she would claimed she had already eaten and would go the rest of the day without food. Her illness was discovered in journals she left behind when she died.
 


When I read this article I was shocked, how can you parents not notice this? They  might not have noticed it when this start to happen. But she only weight six stone when she died, and when you look at the picture you can clearly seen that she is not well and severely thin. In this article they make us believe that they could not know how this could happen. They make her come across as anything but sick, and I think this is a bit misguiding. You had to have noticed something, or at least someone should have.   

There is just no Fucking way

There is a village in Austria with the name Fucking, and the residents are all but happy with this name. This village located in upper Austria wants to change it’s name to Fugging and voted for this yesterday. Today came out that the name Fugging is already taking by another village in lower Austria, they also had the Fuckings a one point in time but it was changed a couple of hundred years ago. But the people of Fucking have had enough the want another name, they are fed up with the prank calls and other nonsense which happen because of this name.

When I read this I thought it was really funny but changing the name isn’t that good of an idea. Why not exploit this name while you have it? The town is already getting attention because of it so you can use it to your advantage. The people who live in this village might not like this name but then move, when you moved there you already knew the name why is it a problem now. And the mayor needs to put a spin on this, why not use what you have got? Build some sex museum or something to do with fucking that you can make profit and you wont have to change your name.

This story is about a boy called Marcus, who was traveling to school when he noticed he forgot his travel card. The police came to take him off the bus and he was handed a fine of 80 pounds. Marissa the mother of eleven-year-old Marcus said the fine should be annulled. He is just a young boy who forgot his travel card because he had to wear special clothes to school that day. Transport for London who is responsible for this said they are not going to do this because Marcus should have had his card with him.

  

In my opinion this is just a bit ridiculous, why did the police have to come he is just a little boy of eleven. Did they really have to throw him of the bus? He was going to school let him go maybe give him a fine or just let this slide for once. I think they could have been much more lenient because of the circumstances, the boy was properly dressed. Very neat actually, why punish him? And why would you start questioning him, you’re just scaring him at that moment and that is just not fair.

In the Telegraph an article got my attention, when I saw something about the Beatles and returning I had to read it because, this is impossible! In this article, the subject discussed was that the sons of the Beatles might be wanting to form a band together. The son of legend Paul McCartney even said he dreamt about becoming bigger than the Beatles. The plan was to get all the sons of all the Beatles together and form a band. The one who is the most interested in music is the son of legend John Lennon, who is already in a band with his girlfriend Yuka Honda.

This can’t be, I think it is ridiculous that the sons of one of most popular bands in the world want to start their own band. And they hope they might have more success? Think again my friend, times are changing. I wonder if it is possible to become that big. 

Even if it would be possible, expectations are high. You are the son of that great legend. Living up to those expectations is probably not possible, why aren’t you a rockstar already then?

If you ask me your parents are irrelevant to what you do, it has to come from you, not what your daddy might have done.
